Welcome to kekou bakery - your neighbourhood homebakery, based in Broomhill, Glasgow.

I prioritise flavour and finish. Everything you see has been handmade using quality ingredients and thoughtful processes. All cakes are made-to-order to limit waste.

I am always learning new techniques in baking and decorating, which I hope you will see reflected in how the bakery changes over time.

kekou emerged from finding joy in the little things, something I hope to share with you.

Hi, I’m Max!

I was born in Texas and raised in San Francisco and London. In 2010, I moved to Edinburgh to do a Masters of Chemistry and fell in love with Scotland. Now based in Glasgow, I live with my family and our two dogs.

I have been many things, but for some reason I keep coming back to baking. It is the boundary where magic meets science, combining precision with feeling to make something beautiful and delicious.

my promise

I pour my soul into everything I make, and I only offer products I know I can deliver. I will be honest with you about whether your requests are achievable, and I only take orders that I can produce to the highest standard. This promise of quality also means that I take a limited number of orders at a time.

I aim to be communicative, open and transparent with everyone who works with me. If you are ever unsatisfied, I want to hear about your experiences so we can find solutions together.
